HiSur Maleimide Beads are activated magnetic beads in lyophilized powder form. The maleimide activated surface allows covalent bond formation to antibodies, proteins, peptides or other biomolecules via thiol (SH) groups. Oligonucleotides, antibodies or other ligands with thiol groups can be easily coupled to the beads. Attribute to their very large surface area (about three times larger than that of the MonoMag NHS Beads and unique surface coating, NHS Hi-Sur Mag exhibit superior binding capacity and low non-specific binding of protein or nucleic acids.
Ocean NanoTech’s HiSur Maleimide Beads are also available in an easy-to-use kit format to enable researchers to conjugate antibodies, proteins, peptides or other biomolecules of their own choice to these magnetic beads. With the engineered HiSur Maleimide Beads and the specifically formulated conjugation buffers, the resulting conjugates exhibit high binding capacity and low non-specific binding. Kit contains sufficient reagents & components for performing at least 5 conjugation reactions. Briefly, the maleimide beads are mixed in thiol-containing molecules such as protein, nuleic acid or small molecules in coupling buffer for 2 hours, then quenching buffer will be added to the solution for 30 min to stop the reaction. After magnetic separation to remove unreacted the molecules, the conjugated beads are stored in storage buffer. The recommended protocol has been used to successfully conjugate bovine serum albumin, streptavidin or immunoglobulin to these magnetic beads.
