SuperMag Maleimide Beads are activated magnetic beads in lyophilized powder form. The maleimide activated surface allows covalent bond formation to antibodies, proteins, peptides or other biomolecules via thiol (SH) groups. Oligonucleotides, antibodies or other ligands with thiol groups can be easily coupled to the beads. With large surface area, excellent colloidal stability and unique surface coating, SuperMag Maleimide Beads exhibit high binding capacity and low non-specific binding of protein or nucleic acids.
Ocean NanoTech’s SuprMag Maleimide Beads are also available in an easy-to-use kit format, allowing researchers to conjugate antibodies, proteins, peptides or other biomolecules of their own choice to these magnetic beads. With the engineered SuperMag Maleimide beads and the specifically formulated conjugation buffers, the resulting conjugates exhibit high binding capacity and low non-specific binding. The kit contains sufficient reagents & components for performing at least 4 conjugation reactions. Briefly, the maleimide beads are mixed in thiol-containing molecules such as protein, nuleic acid or small molecules in coupling buffer for 2 hours, then quenching buffer will be added to the solution for 30 min to stop the reaction. After magnetci separation to remove unreacted the molecules, the conjugated beads are stored in storage buffer. The recommended protocol has been used to successfully conjugate bovine serum albumin, streptavidin or immunoglobulin to these magnetic beads.
