MonoMag NHS Beads are activated magnetic beads in lyophilized powder form. The NHS activated surface allows covalent amide bond formation to antibodies, proteins, peptides or other biomolecules via primary amine (NH2) groups. Oligonucleotides, antibodies or other ligands with amine groups can be easily coupled to the beads. With their large surface area, uniform size, narrow size distribution and unique surface coating, MonoMag NHS Beads exhibit high binding capacity and low non-specific binding of protein or nucleic acids.
Ocean NanoTech’s MonoMag NHS Beads are also available in an easy-to-use kit format to enable researchers to conjugate antibodies, proteins, peptides or other biomolecules of their own choice to these magnetic beads. Attribute to the advantages of the MonoMag NHS Beads and the specifically formulated conjugation buffers, the resulting conjugates exhibit high binding capacity and low non-specific binding. Kit contains sufficient reagents & components for performing at least 4 conjugation reactions. Briefly, the NHS MonoMag beads are mixed in amine-containing molecules such as protein, nuleic acid or small molecules in coupling buffer for 2 hours, then quenching buffer will be added to the solution for 30 min to stop the reaction. After magnetic separation to remove unreacted the molecules, the conjugated beads are stored in storage buffer. The recommended protocol has been used to successfully conjugate bovine serum albumin, streptavidin or immunoglobulin to these magnetic beads.
