New Products for 1st Quarter, 2009: SuperMag Separators

Ocean released the strongest permanent magnets during the 1st Quarter of 2009. The portable, compact, and easy to use permanent magnet called SuperMagTM is only ~2lbs in weight. The SuperMagTM comes in three formats to suit customer needs.

The SuperMag Extra Separator™ is designed for the separation of magnetic nanoparticles in bulk solution. It is provided with one opening that can accommodate one 50 mL centrifuge tube and four openings that can accommodate 15 mL centrifuge tubes. The time required for separation increases with smaller diameter magnetic nanocrystals. This product is highly recommended for iron oxide with diameters of 30 nm and above. For more information, please go to the products section here.

The SuperMag Multitube Separator™ is designed for the separation of magnetic nanoparticles in small volume solution.  It can accommodate 1.5 mL centrifuge tubes for simultaneous separation from ten samples. The time required for separation increases with smaller diameter magnetic nanocrystals. This product is highly recommended for iron oxide with diameters of 20 nm and above. For more information, please go to the products section here.

The SuperMag Separator™ is designed for the separation of magnetic nanocrystals in solution using small volumes in different containers. The opening at the center is designed to hold a 1 cm x 1 cm cuvette that takes maximum of 4 mL and has the strongest magnetic field.  The pair of openings on one side are designed to accommodate 1.5 mL centrifuge tubes while the second pair on the opposite side are designed for 10mm test tubes. The time required for separation increases with smaller diameter magnetic nanocrystals. This product is highly recommended for iron oxide with diameters of 10 nm and above.
