Assay Development Scientist
Position Description:
This candidate will develop the biological aspects and applications of nanomaterials for biomedical, environmental, food, and industrial applications. Responsibilities include:

Development of molecular, microbial, and cell based assays in various platforms using nanoparticles

Conjugation and labeling of biomolecules including but not limited to DNA, proteins, ligands, cells, microorganisms, etc to nanoparticles

Preparation of technical proposals for funding
-
Preparation of reports to funding agencies and partners

Preparation of presentations for technical and business meetings

Preparation of manuscripts for publication
Job Requirements:
Applicants should have a Ph. D in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related areas with a strong background in assay development for molecular, microbial, and cellular applications. Excellent experience in fluorescence, optical, and microscope detection methods; protein/DNA conjugation, labeling, and purification techniques; extensive presentation and publication in peer reviewed journals a plus. Experience in hands-on cell and microbial culture, cGMP, cGLP, and meticulous laboratory record keeping required.
